Ein Wächter prüft täglich jede einzelne Datenquelle, und zwar nicht nur, ob sie antwortet, sondern ob die Auswertung noch Werte liefert.

Each canton implements the same regulation differently — a separate address, a foreign format, fresh pitfalls. All of them are connected. Along with Stripe payments, mapping, 3D terrain, PDF reports and portal exports. A monitor checks every single data source daily: not just whether it responds, but whether the analysis still returns values.

Official figures stay recognisable as such, and supplementary calculations and other sources are labelled. It stays traceable where a figure comes from and how it was arrived at — an estimate looks just like a verified fact on paper, and that difference decides a purchase.

Two ways to a reading: photograph the meter’s display or type the figures in. From there the app works out how much of which product the water needs — to the volume of the pool — and warns when two values together turn risky. Other apps leave you typing first and calculating afterwards.

Dazu eine Produktbibliothek für eigene Mittel und ein Verlauf über die Saison.

The photo shows the display of a digital tester, and a vision model reads the three figures off it: free chlorine, pH and alkalinity. That single step is the only one that leaves the phone, through a service of my own; the dosage is then computed offline — from pool volume, reading and the active ingredient of the chosen product. Plus a product library for your own chemicals and a history across the season.

Der Tag lässt sich durchschieben und jedes Datum wählen; abgelesen werden die besonnten Stunden, der erste und der letzte Strahl — daneben alle zwölf Monate im Vergleich. Den Messpunkt setzen Sie dorthin, wo Sie wirklich sitzen: auf die Terrasse, in den Garten, auf den Balkon im zweiten Stock. Ein Beispiel ist vorher gratis zu sehen.

The address stands before you as a model, with the terrain, the neighbouring houses and the trees around it. Slide through the day, pick any date, and read off the sunlit hours, the first and the last ray — with all twelve months side by side. Put the measuring point where you actually sit: on the terrace, in the garden, on the second-floor balcony. An example is free to look at first.

Gerechnet und gezeichnet wird im Browser, ohne dass ein Server mitrechnet. Die Sonnenstände wurden gegen die Ephemeride des Jet Propulsion Laboratory geprüft: höchstens 0,004° Abweichung, bei einer Sonnenscheibe von rund einem halben Grad. The model is assembled from official geodata: the terrain from swissALTI3D, every house as its own solid from swissBUILDINGS3D, the trees from the national forest inventory’s vegetation height model. It is computed and drawn in the browser, with no server doing the work. Solar positions were verified against the Jet Propulsion Laboratory ephemeris: at most 0.004° of deviation, against a solar disc about half a degree wide. Dazu das Bildarchiv nach Jahr, Gruppe und Sujet, in das die Gäste ihre eigenen Aufnahmen stellen können. Karte und Programm liegen beim Start vorgeladen im Gerät — am Umzugsabend steht das Mobilfunknetz in einem Dorf mit Zehntausenden Besuchern still.

The parade route on the map, the evening’s programme and the running order: who walks with which float, and in what sequence. Plus the photo archive by year, group and float, where guests add their own shots. Map and programme are preloaded on first launch — on parade night the mobile network in a village with tens of thousands of visitors simply stops.

Ein Codebestand für iPhone und Android, auf Expo und Supabase, dazu Mitteilungen aufs Gerät und ein eigener Bereich für das Komitee. Die Festkarte wird beim ersten Start vollständig heruntergeladen, damit sie ohne Netz funktioniert. Vier Sprachen, weil der Anlass Gäste von weit her zieht.

One codebase for iPhone and Android, on Expo and Supabase, with push notifications and a separate area for the committee. The festival map downloads in full on first launch so it works without a network. Four languages, because the event attracts visitors from far afield.

Zu jedem Flugzeug ein Steckbrief mit Typ, Fluggesellschaft, Route und Höhe, dazu Flughafenansichten, ein Cockpit-Instrument mit Lage und Geschwindigkeit, Offline-Karten und die Wiedergabe vergangener Flüge.

Live air traffic on a map, with fluid movement instead of jumping symbols. For each aircraft a profile listing type, airline, route and altitude, plus airport views, a cockpit instrument showing attitude and speed, offline maps and playback of past flights.

Ein Prototyp — gebaut, um zu zeigen, wie weit sich Echtzeitdaten mit eigenen Mitteln tragen lassen. Dieselbe Technik zeigt heute in Grundsicht den Flugverkehr über einem Grundstück.

A prototype built to demonstrate how far real-time data can go with independently developed tools. The same technology now shows air traffic above a property in Grundsicht.

80 Swift-Dateien, fünf Sprachen, native Kartendarstellung. Eigene Nachschlagewerke für Fluggesellschaften und Flugzeugtypen, weil es dafür keine brauchbare Quelle gab. Built to a specification from Jan Kläui, who wanted to know which channels in his field were genuinely gaining ground. He described what he needed; the implementation followed from that.

Wie es gebaut istHow it is built

Die Schnittstelle von YouTube kennt keine Vergangenheit — sie liefert nur den Stand von jetzt. Wer die Kurve will, muss sie selbst mitschreiben. Dafür läuft ein eigener Sammler auf einem Kleinrechner, der rund um die Uhr misst, dazu eine Oberfläche in zwei Sprachen.

YouTube's interface has no memory — it returns only the present figure. Anyone who wants the curve has to record it themselves. A dedicated collector runs on a small always-on machine, measuring around the clock, with an interface in two languages.

Bewusst so entschiedenA deliberate choice

Vor der ersten Zeile Code ging eine Liste dessen raus, was nicht gehen wird: YouTube rundet Abonnentenzahlen ab einer gewissen Grösse, ein Kanal mit einer halben Million kann zwanzig Tage lang dieselbe Zahl zeigen. Diese Grenzen zu kennen, bevor gebaut wird, erspart die Enttäuschung nach vier Wochen.

Before the first line of code, a list went out of what would not be possible: YouTube rounds subscriber counts above a certain size, so a channel with half a million can display the same figure for twenty days. Knowing those limits before building saves the disappointment four weeks later.
